This post tells exactly what I did to end my sugar cravings, gain tons of energy and lose 100 lbs. I've also managed to keep it off for well over 10 years. That's because I don't live like a saint. I enjoy myself. I go out to eat a lot and I'm always the one ordering the steak or the reuben with coleslaw. I love to travel and have no trouble sticking to my eating plan anywhere I go.
It took me a long time and lots of research to develop what I share here. I'm a teacher so I condensed everything and broke it down into steps to make it easier for you. You can see my before and after pics near the end of this article.
The best way to get rid of your sugar cravings is to start from scratch. But before you do that, you need to learn about how certain foods affect your body by keeping track of your meals and how they make you feel. You can download your free printable Feeling and Eating Journal here.
Track yourself for a few days and you'll know a lot more about how foods affect you personally and which ones to avoid.
Now for the start from scratch part. The quickest way to do that is to get a free copy of my Carb Out With Joy tutorial here.
In it you'll find step-by-step instructions and guidance for a 7 day program that will reset your metabolism and get rid of your cravings for good. I developed this myself after years of yo-yo dieting and a huge sweet tooth that always came back with a vengeance after any prolonged bout of eating healthily. This tutorial will be part of a paid program and may not be available for free forever so get yours and save it now.
Once you've re-set yourself and you're ready to add some new foods to your system, you'll want to keep tracking how food makes you feel with the free printable. Then gradually add slowly digestible low glycemic foods one at a time. Track how they make you feel. One food that you may want to add is Joy! by Paradox Healthy Living. This food is designed to give you energy and even out your blood sugar. It's sweetened with berries and stevia so it won't negatively affect the way you feel.
Remember this. If you eat sugar and grains, just be aware of how they make you feel. Then you'll always have the choice to feel good.
That's it! My simple (but not easy) way to find your energy at last. I did and I lost 100 lbs. from my 5'2" frame and have kept it off for 10+ years while keeping up my social life and having lots of fun eating. Here are before and after pics of me.
I wouldn't tell anyone to do something I haven't done myself. I can say for sure, though, that I 've been free of sugar cravings for at least 10 years now. It isn't hard to keep it up because I don't crave sugar. Ever.
I do, however, eat sweets, I just don't eat sugar or grains. I feel better at age 58 than I did at age 22 and I wouldn't give up feeling this good for any cupcake or donut in the world.
You can find the recipe here along with guidance and support
